The semester has finally come to an end so this will be my last blog about information pertaining to good digital citizenship. In the book LOL... OMG by Matt Ivester he taught his audience the importance of being a good digital citizen and how to become a good digital citizen. The user should always watch out for the content they post and the content they “like” on social media. The user should always watch out for who they are friends with on social media, along with their privacy settings when they are posting content onto their social media accounts. Also, the user should always be thinking twice before posting content online because anything posted on the internet is considered forever.These were the biggest take away points from the book. In this class I did a research paper about Jofi Joseph, somebody who was fired for posting negative content about their coworkers and employer online, who was eventually fired. He went against a lot of the advice Ivester told us not to do

Online Etiquette In the book , LOL..OMG! by Ivester , he explain the importance of people minding their manners online. The idea of online etiquette and social norms are determined by the internet’s online users. Ordinary people online speaking out against injustices have the power to shape the internet and decide what type of behavior is acceptable online. Ivester gives 10 steps of advice for judging personal behavior online. In step 1 , the user should always be considerate when tagging people in post and other online activities that might mention their name. In step 2, The user should always when interacting with people online take into account the person's tolerance level for jokes, insults, and ect… In step, the user should be making sure anything posted does not violate any laws or policies that belong to any organizations associated with the user. In step 4, the user must be made conscious to the effect of what would happen if everybody did the same act

Managing Online Reputation

In the book, Lol... Omg by Matt Ivester , he advises taking simple steps towards managing the immortal thing called an “online reputation.” He explains that managing an online reputation is not an overnight task, but a routine that is done regularly. There are seven simple task the user must perform on regular basis explained below. In his first tip, he recommends googling oneself. The act of googling myself is something I tried back in high school after a song came out by Teyana Taylor called Google Me . The hook went like this “ Ye' ain't nobody, Google me, baby. You better ask somebody, You better Google me, baby.” So I ended up googling myself often. I had found awards I had won in high school that were posted on the net and pictures of myself and others from Myspace accounts (before Facebook was a thing).
